Dubai: Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has announced plans to advance the start of the next academic year by one week to accommodate a break during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The ministry stated it is currently coordinating with relevant authorities to finalise the academic calendar for the 2025–2026 school year. According to the proposal, administrative and teaching staff would return to schools on September 1, while students would begin classes on September 7.

The slight advancement of the school year is intended to compensate for the proposed holiday during the final and most spiritually significant days of Ramadan.

The move reflects the ministry’s commitment to recognising the importance of this period for students, teachers, and families alike.

The decision, once approved, will ensure that academic schedules are balanced without impacting the overall number of school days.

Further details regarding the full calendar and official confirmation are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
