Abu Dhabi: The Kuwait National Petroleum Company said Tuesday, it completed the project of a high-sulfur gas treatment plant at its Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, which will process the gases and condensates produced by Kuwait Oil Company from its fields in the west of the country.

Abdullah Al Ajmi, Executive Vice President of Projects and Spokesman for National Petroleum Company, said the project’s production could reach 231 million cubic feet per day of gas based on the ratio of hydrogen sulfide, in addition to 39,000 barrels per day of condensate.

He added that the project will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to less than one per cent, as well as reducing the emission of sulfur oxide gases to the permissible level according to the standards of the Public Environment Authority, and converting hydrogen sulfide into sulfur and sending it to handling facilities for export.
