Dubai: A local, well known charity in Kuwait has been accused of embezzling money of philanthropists who had donated to build ‘The Model Village’ in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan, local media reported.

According to reliable sources, this is the third complaint that has been filed against the charity with the Public Prosecution about major financial abuses.

The new complaint has been filed against the institution for embezzling public funds and damaging the reputation of Kuwait and its charity institutions working in the humanitarian field.

Sources said the ‘Model Village’ is not fully constructed and there are only 200 houses, and the rest of the houses are built by various other charity societies, some of them built from individual collections and others by local associations.
