Kuwait City: The head of the educational committee, Dr. Hamad Al Matar, announced that according to a decision issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammed Al Faris, all exams for Kuwait university students will be held online.

The decision will be enforced starting Sunday March 7 for a duration of one month, as Kuwait implements new measures, including a 12-hour partial curfew, to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Although all classes were conducted online since the start of the pandemic, some colleges at Kuwait University were conducting in person exams based on the choice of the respective professor.

The new decision states that any professor that violates the new order will face penalties by the educational committee.

Effect of pandemic on universities

It’s been over a year since all universities and colleges, including schools, have been conducting online learning.

Kuwait has yet to introduce a return to school plan, as many of it’s neighboring Gulf countries have.
