Photo gallery on suspect's phone yields secretly snapped images of females
Cairo: An expatriate has been caught in Kuwait for surreptitiously filming women shopping inside a cooperative with his mobile phone, according to a Kuwaiti newspaper.
"The expat had duped people around him into thinking that he was talking on the phone with his wife. But one female shopper noticed he was filming her," Al Rai reported, citing a source familiar with the incident.
The woman moved towards him and took the phone away from the expat, but he rushed to retrieve the gadget, added the source.
A Kuwaiti man on the scene stepped in and took the phone from the expat, who is an Arab national, according to the source.
When the photo gallery on the phone was examined, it transpired that the suspect had filmed the woman and other shoppers.
The cooperative administration notified police of the incident, and the offender was arrested for interrogation.
No motive was given for the man's reported offence. Nor was it immediately clear when and where the incident exactly happened in the country.
Foreigners currently constitute 3.3 million of Kuwait's 4.9 million population.
