COVID-19: Kuwait registers 589 new cases; 7 deaths

Infection tally rises to 9,286 including 65 fatalities

Cairo: Kuwait Monday recorded 598 new coronavirus cases, bringing to 9,286 its total infections, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA said.

The Health Ministry also reported seven more deaths from COVID-19, taking to 65 the total such fatalities in Kuwait.

The ministry also said 178 more patients have recovered from the disease, raising to 2, 907 the overall recoveries in the country, according to the ministry 's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad.

In recent days, Kuwait has experienced an increase in Covid-19 cases, prompting the government to impose a total curfew.

The nationwide curfew started Sunday and continues until May 30 to stem the spread of the highly contagious disease in the country.
