COVID-19: Kuwait records 630 new cases; tally at 33,140

All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people

Cairo: Kuwait has confirmed 630 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the country's infection tally to 33,140, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Tuesday.

Four more deaths were announced, bringing the total fatalities from COVID-19 in the country to 273.

All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection, the Health Ministry's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in a media update.

He added that 41 persons have completed the obligatory institutional quarantine over the past 24 hours and will have to undergo 14 days at home isolation.

The number of COVID-19 tests conducted so far in Kuwait has totalled 321,502, according to Dr Al Sanad.

The Health Ministry earlier Tuesday said that 920 more patients have recovered from the disease over the past 24 hours, bringing to 22,162 the total of such recoveries in the country.
