Cairo: Kuwait's Health Ministry Tuesday announced two new deaths due to COVID-19, raising to 11 the total such fatalities in the country.

Eighty-five more coronavirus cases were also recorded, bringing to 2,080 the country's infection tally, spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said.

The latest deaths were two Bangladeshi and Somali residents who were in intensive care, Dr Al Sanad said in a media briefing.

Kuwaiti Health Minister Sheikh Basil Al Sabah, meanwhile, said that 45 more patients have recovered from COVID-19, raising to 412 the total recoveries in the country.

The recovered patients will be transferred to the rehabilitation ward of a hospital designating for receiving those infected with the virus, the minister told Kuwait's news agency KUNA. They will be discharged from the facility in the coming two days, he added.
