Dubai: Bahrain’s foreign minister said that Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, was a ‘terrorist’ who has to be stopped.
“The terrorist Nasrallah declares war on his nation,” Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa posted on his Twitter account on Sunday. “Stopping him and rescuing Lebanon from his clutches is a national and religion duty for all of us,” the minister tweeted to his 140,269 followers.
Shaikh Khalid’s remarks were posted hours after Nasrallah gave a speech in which he vowed that Hezbollah would stay in the Syrian war “to the end of the road” and bring victory to the regime of President Bashar Al Assad.
“We will continue to the end of the road. We accept this responsibility and we will accept all sacrifices and expected consequences of this position,” he was quoting as saying. “We will be the ones who bring it victory, God willing.”
The Gulf Cooperation Council that comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, has fully endorsed the Arab League in supporting the Syrian rebels against Al Assad.
