Dubai: Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has confirmed another 205 new coronavirus cases, pushing the Kingdom’s total number of infected people to 4,404.

In a series of tweets on its twitter page, the ministry said that 138 expatriate workers were among the 205 new cases, with 67 of them getting the virus from direct contact with active cases.

It added that 27 COVID-19 patients have recovered fully from the symptoms of the virus, taking the total number of patients recovered so far to 2,027.

Currently, a total of 170,719 people have been tested and the total number of confirmed active cases is 2,369, amongst which 2 patients are in critical condition. Eight deaths have been recorded in total.

The ministry noted that 240 individuals have been discharged from quarantine centres after completing the necessary quarantine period and undergoing testing to ensure they are free of COVID-19, adding that to date, 2280 individuals have been discharged from quarantine centres.

To ensure the safety of all, the ministry said it increased its testing capacity, performing more than 170,000 COVID19 tests to date, 6206 of which were carried out in the past 24 hours.
