Dubai: Another 434 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Bahrain, following 7,379 new COVID-19 tests done the past 24 hours, the kingdom’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

The ministry revealed that 273 expatriate workers were among the latest cases, while 158 are contacts of active cases and three are travel-related.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 18,227.

Additionally, the ministry has also reported the recovery of 629 COVID-19 patients, increasing total recoveries to 16,419.

In a series of tweets, the ministry also confirmed one more death from the virus, taking the kingdom’s death toll to 63.

“The Ministry of Health announces the death of a 90-year-old male citizen from COVID-19, and expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased” the ministry tweeted.

There are currently 169 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 32 are in a critical condition. 5,250 cases are stable out of a total of 5,282 active cases.
