Dubai: Bahrain on Thursday announced 116 new COVID-19 cases, raising to1, 534 the total number of infections in the country.

The new infections include 109 cases of expatriate workers, while six cases are for those who had been in contact with the previously diagnosed patients, and one case is for a patient who came from abroad.

The ministry said that 40 new patients have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 1495. No fatalities have been reported recently. The death toll stands at eight.
