Manama: Bahrain's youngest editor-in-chiefhas died from a heart attack while in his office.

Hamad Mansoor Bin Rajab, 29, was found unconscious late on Tuesday by staff of his weekly newspaper, Al Ahd, in the Toobli area, in the southern suburbs of Manama, the capital.

Witnesses said that he was rushed to the Military Hospital, but had apparently died from the health crisis before reaching the medical facility.

The only son of State Minister Mansoor Bin Rajab, Hamad is a 2002 University of Bahrain graduate with a BA degree in media. He was appointed in 2005 as the editor in chief of the newspaper and wrote a weekly op-ed, mainly on local political issues.

His father was minister of municipalities and agriculture before being appointed Minister of State in a limited cabinet reshuffle in October.

Hamad is survived by his wife whom he married last year. He was buried in Manama on Wednesday morning.

Bahrain has seven dailies in Arabic and two weeklies, Al Ahd and Al Aswaq, a business-focused newspaper.
