Dubai: A 28-year-old expatriate has been arrested in Bahrain for suspected murder of his mother, 47, at her residence in Amwaj Islands, the Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science announced yesterday.
Initial investigation revealed that a personal dispute between the mother and son may have led to the heinous crime. The son was arrested in cooperation with the General Directorate of Muharraq Governorate Police within hours of the incident.
The Director-General said that police patrols, crime scene team and authorities concerned were dispatched to the scene as soon as they received the report. They found that the victim was stabbed to death with a sharp object.
The extensive investigation led to identification and arrest of the suspect. The murder tool was confiscated, and legal proceedings are being taken.
