Manama: Bahrain's education minister on Tuesday drove students who were late to school in his personal car.

Dr Majed Al Nuaimi was on his way to inspect an intermediate school when he saw some students who were late for class.

He stopped the car and asked them to get in so that he could get them on time for their classes.

During the ride, the minister talked with the students about the significance of arriving early for their classes, an education ministry official said.

Al Nuaimi is known in Bahrain for starting his daily work at around 7am.
