Women to crash diet to size zero on TV show

Last updated:

London: A TV channel is to screen a "super-skinny" version of documentary Super Size Me following a group of women as they attempt to crash diet to size zero.

The "shock documentary", to be aired later this year, will record the experiences of a group of female journalists in their attempts to drop to size 2, equivalent to a US size 00, using extreme weight-loss methods favoured by stars such as Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham.

Health campaigners, however, raised concerns over the show. Steve Bloomfield of the Eating Disorder Association, said there are "some potentially quite serious risks to the participants". But a Channel 4 spokesman said Super-Skinny Me: The Race To Size Zero would aim to expose the dangers behind extreme slimming.
