When the scene eventually settles down, the driver of the car’s feet can be seen at the bottom of the screen.
He survived, but with serious injuries including a fractured skull, two fractured vertebrae, and a fractured ankle, knee and shin. He is still undergoing surgery.
Lorry driver Vyhantas Stanulis, 55, was jailed for a year following the crash, which happened on January 19 in the UK on the A2 road near Kent.
Lithuanian Stanulis said he suffered a ‘momentary lapse of concentration’ during the crash, his lorry loaded with steel hitting the Fiesta and sending it into another lorry carrying wooden pallets, which ended up strewn across the road.
Witnesses said Stanulis failed to slow down, his attempt to break coming less than a second before the dramatic impact.
A police statement said: “Stanulis didn't set out that morning to cause harm and he is still coming to terms with what happened.
“The victim still faces operations on his face and knee and will live with the consequences of this collision for a long time.
“It just goes to show that any lapse in concentration when driving can have devastating consequences.”
