Queen Elizabeth II to become oldest serving British monarch

Last updated:

London: Queen Elizabeth II will become the oldest serving British monarch on Thursday evening.

She will surpass the milestone set by her great grandmother Queen Victoria at 9pm UAE time, when she will become 81 years, seven months and 30 days old.

There are no special events planned to mark the occasion though.

The Queen will not beat Queen Victoria's record for the longest serving British monarch until September 9, 2015.

She will have been Queen for 63 years when she reaches that milestone.
