Violence erupts again in Karachi
Karachi: Violent protests erupted in Karachi on Wednesday evening and continued until the early hours of yesterday as hundreds of people protested against prolonged power cuts.
Tyres were burnt and vehicles were pelted with stones as protesters turned violent during the 16-hour breakdown, police said. A KFC outlet and two bank branches were also damaged.
Traffic on the roads was disrupted, while police had to fire tear gas shells to control the mob.
There were also reports of sporadic violence in other parts of the city, police said.
