Dubai: The Pakistan Navy has said it has detected an Indian submarine trying to enter Pakistani waters.

"The Pakistan Navy used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters," a statement from the spokesperson said.

Video of the alleged incursion released by Pakistan Television Corporation, a network owned by Pakistan government.

According to a statement, the Pakistan Navy detected an India submarine and stopped it from entering Pakistani waters.

“The Pakistan Navy foiled every attempt of Indian submarine to avoid being detected," the statement said as quoted by Pakistan media.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Navy said it was the second occasion since 2016 when it has detected an Indian submarine trying to wade into Pakistani waters.

"In order to maintain peace, the Indian submarine was not targeted. It is the reflection of Pakistan's desire for peace" the statement said.
