Dubai: Three Pakistani schools have been shortlisted in the World’s Best School Prizes list of 2025. The list, spearheaded by T4 Education, is a representation of schools that are among the top innovative institutions worldwide.

Here’s what you need to know about this competition.

The organiser

T4 education is a global platform dedicated to connecting educators and institutions, while promoting community and development. Their annual World’s Best School Prizes ranking provides an opportunity for schools to share their efforts of creative and impactful learning on a global scale.

The five main categories that the competition includes are: Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives.

The criteria for applying to the competition is vast, encouraging schools of all backgrounds to apply. Applications are also made easy to navigate. For instance, there are no fees to enter and schools can submit applications in any language. Educational institutions are also allowed to submit to more than one category for consideration.

Schools are to self-apply for consideration to the competition and must be a legally registered institution with their respective local Ministry of Education.

Pakistan’s top contenders

This year, three Pakistani schools have been placed in the top 10 finalist ranks for the following categories:

  • Overcoming Adversity: Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School, Lahore

  • Community Collaboration: Nordic International School, Lahore

  • Community Collaboration: Beaconhouse College Programme, Juniper Campus, Quetta

The selected institutions are some of the top schools in the country. For instance, in January 2025, the Sanjan Nagar Trust School has earned a platinum certification from T4’s Best Schools to Work programme, signifying a prosperous work environment. Whereas the Beaconhouse institution remains a well-known, flagship community of schools nationwide.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged this achievement and congratulated the students and administrations of these schools.

“These educational institutions have brought pride to the nation on the global stage. Such educational institutions are a role model for us all,” he said in a statement, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan.

When will the winners be revealed?

While the shortlists of top 10 candidates for each category have been recently announced, winners will be revealed at a virtual ceremony in October 2025.

Five total winners will be chosen, with one for each respective category. One school will also be awarded the Community Choice Award.

The prize includes a one year fully-funded membership to the Best School To Work programme. This is largely dedicated to improving school workplace cultures, complete with diagnostic tools among other resources provided by the organisation.
