Karachi: Only vaccinated people will be allowed to attend indoor marriage functions in Pakistan’s Sindh province, according to the new COVID-19 restrictions.

According to the latest order issued by government’s Home Department on Friday night, cinemas, theatres, and indoor gyms will also be open to the vaccinated.

The indoor wedding ceremonies will be attended by a maximum 200 guests. The order said that it will be the joint responsibility of the management of the venue of wedding event and association of the marriage halls to ensure that both the staff of the venue and guests have been vaccinated.

A maximum of 400 guests will be able to attend the outdoor marriage functions with social distancing curbs implemented strictly.

The cinemas and theatres are allowed to remain open till 1am.

Theme, amusement and water sports parks in the province will remain open and provide their recreational services with 50 per cent occupancy.

Restaurants and eateries are allowed to provide both indoor and outdoor dining facilities. The indoor dining facility, however, will only be restrcited to 50 per cent capacity only to the vaccinated individuals. The management of the restaurants will make sure that only vaccinated guests are being offered the facility. The restaurants are allowed to offer the dine-in service till midnight daily.

Religious shrines are also allowed to remain open with strict compliance of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) against the spread of coronavirus infection. Public transport vehicles are allowed to operate with 70 per cent occupancy by the passengers and observance of the SOPs against COVID-19.

Shops are allowed to remain open till 10pm daily while bakeries and milk shops could offer their services till midnight.

The non-essential businesses and shops will remain closed on Sundays. The indoor and outdoor gatherings including cultural, musical and religious and miscellaneous events will remain banned in the province.
