Officials discovered tampering with instruments during routine check-up
Karachi: Investigators have detected a bid to crash a plane of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), media reports said on Tuesday.
During routine checking officials discovered tampering with the instruments and said that if the plane had flown it would have resulted in an accident. PIA vigilance teams have begun an investigation into the incident.
Earlier, an ATR plane with Y registration had reached Karachi from Bahawlapur on Friday and had to undergo repairs.
Media reports said both engines of the plane were damaged badly, which may cost Rs60 million for repairs.
It said that ATR has been grounded and now five out of nine planes are operational.
