Case against Sindh Government quashed
Islamabad: Pakistani police, after a court order, registered a case against the Sindh Government and leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for May 12 violence in Karachi but a few hours later quashed the case, claiming the complainant did not have sufficient evidence to substantiate his complaint, officials said yesterday.
An FIR (first information report) was lodged by an advocate of the Karachi Bar Association against the provincial government, police officers and office-bearers of the MQM on the May 12 tragedy.
The country's worst political street violence in two decades erupted when the suspended chief justice tried to meet supporters in the city.
