Dubai: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a woman allegedly bit off a portion of her husband's tongue during a heated argument in Bakani town, Jhalawar district, Rajasthan.

The police have registered a case against the accused, 23-year-old Ravina Sain, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, PTI reported.

According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Brijraj Singh, the victim, 25-year-old Kanhayalal Sain, had been married to Ravina for nearly 18 months. Their relationship was reportedly tumultuous, often marred by conflicts.

On Thursday night, a dispute escalated, leading to the violent act. In a fit of rage, Ravina allegedly bit off a portion of Kanhayalal's tongue.

Family members rushed the injured man to a local hospital, from where he was referred to Jhalawar Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Doctors have indicated that his tongue may be surgically reattached.

Following the incident, Ravina locked herself in a room and attempted to harm herself by slitting her wrist with a sickle. However, family members intervened in time.

The case was filed based on a complaint from Kanhayalal’s brother, and the police are awaiting the victim’s official statement as investigations continue.
