Hyderabad: Popular Telugu TV actress Naga Jhansi was found hanging in her flat in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning. Police officials said that Jhansi hanged herself from ceiling fan on Wednesday.
The young actress who worked in different serials including “Pratibandham” was living alone in an apartment in Srinagar colony in Hyderabad.
The incident came to light when her brother Durga Prasad alerted the neighbours as she was not responding to his phone calls. As the knocks remained unanswered the neighbours broke open the door and found her hanging.
The police later shifted her body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post mortem and also seized her mobile phone.
On the basis of the WhatsApp chat between the actress and her friend Surya, police suspected that a break-up between the two could be the reason for her extreme step. Those close to the actress told the police that she was in depression for some time.
Jhansi hailed from Mudinepally in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Apart from acting in tele serials she was also running a beauty parlour in Hyderabad.
