Bengaluru Metro’s Yellow-Green Line crossover video takes internet by storm
A mesmerising drone video showing Bengaluru Metro’s Yellow and Green Line trains crossing paths has taken the internet by storm. Captured near the RV Road interchange station, the rare footage shows four trains—two each from the Yellow and Green Lines—gliding through the city in perfect synchrony, all within a single frame.
The video was shot and shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Srihari Karanth, a Bengaluru-based content creator known for his beautiful drone shots of the city. Sharing the moment online, he wrote, “Waited forever for this perfect shot – Yellow and Green Lines all in one frame.”
The post quickly went viral, drawing praise for its perfect timing, aesthetic composition, and emotional resonance with locals who rely on the metro daily. Commuters and rail fans alike admired the coordination and beauty of the clip, which highlights the city's growing metro network.
The video’s uniqueness lies in its timing. The Yellow Line currently operates at a frequency of about 25 minutes, while the Green Line runs every 5 to 10 minutes. Capturing a moment where four trains meet required careful observation and patience, as their schedules had to align exactly right at the RV Road interchange, where the two lines cross paths.
This viral moment comes just days after the inauguration of the Yellow Line on August 1 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The new 19.15-km stretch connects RV Road to Bommasandra, passing through key areas such as Electronic City, Hulimavu, and Bommanahalli—major tech and industrial hubs in the city.
On its first day of commercial operations, the Yellow Line saw over 52,000 boardings, helping Bengaluru Metro hit a record daily ridership of 1 million passengers.
As the city continues to expand its metro infrastructure, this viral video has become a symbol of progress—and a reminder of the beauty found in everyday moments of urban life.
