Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (India): Vinay Dwivedi, a taxi driver, intentionally shot himself in an attempt to falsely implicate a friend who he believed was having an affair with his wife.

Upon investigation, the police discovered that Mahendra Singh Rana from Trauna village and Vikas Yadav from Unnao were not present in the city on the day of the attack on Vinay Dwivedi on November 1.

The police revealed that Dwivedi had suffered a gunshot injury on his hand, and the wound exhibited blackening and tattooing marks, indicating that the shot was fired from point-blank range.

According to the police, Rana was located in the Thakruganj area, while Vikas was in the Shivpuri locality in Madhya Pradesh at the time of the incident. "The police obtained authentic evidence of Rana’s presence in Thakurganj, and Vikas's location was confirmed to be in Madhya Pradesh, supported by his travel ticket," the police stated.

Two witnesses, Sooraj Singh and Prem Bahadur Singh, both from Unnao, testified that they saw Dwivedi shooting himself, further corroborating the police's findings.
