Ranchi: A youth allegedly killed his uncle and aunt on suspicion of practising "black magic" in Jharkhand's West Singbhumh district on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, Shishlal Tudu (30) killed his uncle Opind Tudu (70) and Koki Tudu (60) on early Tuesday.

Shishlal had shown his wife, who has been ill for many days, to doctors in West Bengal. He had also approached an "exorcist" there.

The "exorcist" had told him that his uncle and aunt were using black magic on his wife.

Shishlal then decided to kill both, police said.

After committing the crime, Shishlal quietly went to work in the field.

The neighbours who could not see the two for the whole day informed the police, who after investigation arrested Shishlal.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

The killings have spread fear and panic in the area.

In Jharkhand, more than 1000 people have been killed on suspicion of practising witchcraft.
