India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi turned 69 today. Indian social media users, especially his supporters, took to Twitter to wish him on the occasion. Hashtags #HappyBirthdayNarendraModi and #HappyBdayPMModi became the top trends on Twitter in India.
Indian tweep @SwamiGeetika went around Marienplatz in Munich, Germany with a picture of Narendra Modi, asking people if the recognized the Prime Minister.
International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik wished the Indian premier with a sand sculture.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's arrival on his 69th birth anniversary, the entire Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia in Narmada district in the Indian state of Gujarat was illuminated with bright coloured lighting on late Monday night.
On Tuesday, Modi arrived at Kevadiya to take part in the 'Namami Narmada' festival being celebrated by the Gujarat government to mark the filling up of the Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada river to its full reservoir level of 138.68 metres.
Modi also shared a video of the Statue of Unity, billed as the tallest in the world. It was inaugurated by him on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary on October 31 last year.
A video of Modi at the Butterfly Garden in Kevadiya, Gujarat was also shared by many.
However, tweep @srivatsayb requested: "If you find time off from Butterflies and Statues, please do something for flood devastated Karnataka."
BJP workers in Madhya Pradesh wished Modi with a 69-feet-long cake yesterday.
That wasn't all, according to Times of India, a Surat baker celebrated Modi’s 69th birthday with a record 700-feet-long cake weighing 7,000kg cut by 700 ‘honest people of the city’.
Exhibitions were also put up in different parts of the country to share the life achievements of Modi.
