India's aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu said in a statement that the police had "arrested a minor responsible for issuing bomb threats targeting three flights".

"All others responsible for the disruptions will be identified and duly prosecuted," the statement added.

A total of 13 threats have been issued, starting with four on Monday, prompting the Mumbai Police to file three first information reports (FIRs).

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu held a meeting with officials from his department and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Senior airline officials reported to NDTV that while hoax calls significantly impact finances, they have no choice but to take them seriously.
