The complaint was later withdrawn and the families ended up in a compromise

Dubai: A seven-year-old boy allegedly slit the throat of his four-year-old cousin with a knife during a fight over a game has put the social media users in shock. The tragic incident had occurred in Bareilly district from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh when the two children were playing a game outside their house in Nawabganj area on Sunday.
Sharan Das, a Facebook user, commented: "God! I can't believe this news. It's making me upset. Where is the innocence of the child gone?"
According to the media sources, a fight broke out between the children during the game. Subsequently, the seven-year-old who got upset went to his house to get a knife. He then slit the throat of his younger cousin, during which the little kid sustained a deep cut on his throat and fell unconscious.
The injured child was rushed to the community health centre, where doctors referred him to a higher medical facility after giving him the preliminary treatment.
Meanwhile, the victim's mother filed a complaint against her sister-in-law, alleging that she had given instructions for the attack. She later took back the complaint, reportedly.
A Facebook user, Krishnen Dhiman posted: “Children imitate what they see happening around them.”
While talking to the media sources, the Station House Officer(SHO) Surendra Singh Panchori said: "Both the families came to a compromise as it was a fight between their children, and they said that the younger brother got hurt mistakenly."
If anything happens to the child, then the police will take legal action. Also, a team has been assigned to enquire on the condition of the injured child.
While the Children's Court in India can generally pass a sentence of more than three years for a heinous offence, it cannot confer a death penalty or life imprisonment in such cases.
