Bollywood’s Kangana Ranaut and Vicky Kaushal among stars celebrating India’s Independence Day

Bollywood actor Salman Khan in his Independence Day tweet advised people to always be "reliable and dependable." "Be 100% reliable and dependable ... Happy Independence Day ... Jai Hind," he tweeted. He also posted a video of himself singing ‘Sare Jaha Se Acha’ on Instagram.

Actor Sanjay Dutt who had recently announced a break from work due to his health problems took to Twitter and said, "Jai Hind. Happy Independence Day to all."

'Stree' actor Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, posted a picture of himself holding two small Indian flags on Instagram. "Swantrata ki bahut bahut badhaai. Mera bharat mahaan. Jai Hind (Congratulations on the Independence. My India is great. Jai Hind)," he wrote in the caption.

Former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen also took to Twitter and posted a picture of the Indian national flag fluttering in the sky and wrote, "Happy 74th Independence Day, My Motherland #pride #salute INDIA JAI HIND."

Farhan Akhtar: Actor-director Farhan Akhtar posted an illustration of a child holding the tricolour flag and captioned it with a poem by Indian poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan vowed to follow the basic values that the Indian national flag stands for, on the occasion of Independence Day on Saturday. "Strength & Courage. Peace & Truth. Fertility & Growth. Life in Movement. My country stands for these values. I promise to do the same on this day of 15th August and forever. Varun Dhawan posted a clip on Instagram from his film 'Street Dancer' where he is seen delivering a breath-taking performance on the national song 'Vande Matram' as he extended greetings of Independence Day. Along with the video, he noted, "Happy independence day #vandematram. To all the doctors, nurses, police force, army and every frontline worker working day and night to keep us safe thank u ."

Abhishek Bachchan also extended greetings on Twitter by sharing a short clip as he wrote, "svatantrata divas kee shubhakaamanaen. #jaihind #IndependenceDay."

Randeep Hooda posted a picture on Twitter that showcased the national animal- Bengal tiger holding a bamboo stick tied along with the national flag, in the middle of a forest. Along with the picture he noted, "Vande Mataram #IndependenceDayIndia2020."

Actor Vicky Kaushal was in the mood for a classical music session on Independence Day. In a new video he posted on Instagram, Vicky wears an off-white kurta and plays the veena. He plays the song "Ae Watan" from the 2018 film "Raazi", which cast him opposite Alia Bhatt. "Ae Watan, Watan mere, abaad rahe Tu! Shukriya @radhikaveenasadhika ji," Vicky captioned the video.

Actor Karan Singh Grover, who is known to have a knack at painting, shared snapshots of his latest artwork on Instagram. He told IANS: "This art piece symbolises independence and also transformation.
