WIth the recent visit of the Philippine president Marcos to India, the Government of India has announced new e-Tourist visas to Filipino travellers.

The 30-day visa scheme, with no fees, will be effective for the initial period of one year from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026.

The Indian Embasssy in Manila has published an advisory on how Philippine citizens can go through the e-visa application.

Applicants may follow the procedures below to apply:

  • The 30-day e-Tourist visa can be applied online, without the need to step out, at the e-visa link: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.

  • By default, a double entry e-Tourist visa valid for 30 days from the date of the first arrival in India will be granted to the applicant. Double entries will be granted within the e-Visa validity period stamped by the Bureau of Immigration on the Passport at the time of entry. The first arrival must be made on or before the date mentioned in the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

  • Applicants must apply at least 4 days in advance of the date of arrival. Such application can be made upto 30 days in advance from the proposed date of travel.

  • Applicant's passport should have at least six months' validity at the time of making the application.

  • At the time of immigration check in India, if so asked, applicants must produce either return or onward journey ticket and proof of sufficient funds to spend during his/her stay in India.

  • Applicants will be required to pay visa fees as prescribed for all other e-visa categories, like e-tourist visas for longer duration, e-Business, e-Conference, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant, e-Ayush, e-Student.

  • It may be noted that any kind of e-Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible & not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted and Cantonment Areas.

  • Other than the above, existing rules regarding e-Tourist and other e-visas as mentioned at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html will continue to apply.

  • Those who wish to obtain regular paper visas, including tourist visa, from the Embassy will require to pay the prescribed visa fees.
