Indian Prime Minister Nararendra Modi was once again trolled for a post online but this time he replied and encouraged it.

Modi shared a picture of himself from the South Indian city of Kozhikode in Kerala. In the image, he is seen looking for the solar eclipse that occurred today.

Taking to twitter, he, @narendramodi, wrote: “Like many Indians, I was enthusiastic about #solareclipse2019. Unfortunately, I could not see the Sun due to cloud cover but I did catch glimpses of the eclipse in Kozhikode and other parts on live stream. Also enriched my knowledge on the subject by interacting with experts.”

In typical Twitter fashion, the image quickly became a meme.

Tweep @Aryaaawn reposted the picture and wrote: “Modi ji offering goggles to [the] sun so that it can enjoy watching eclipse too.”

User @bdhaps posted a caption: “Modi ji trying to visualise 5 trillion dollar economy.”

Twitter user @djaywalebabu shared pictures comparing Modi with Marvel Comics character Doctor Strange: “Some of the pics of Doctor Strange with sling ring.”

There were also those like user @imranfarooq12 who highlighted that protests and unrest in the country due to the controversial against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Law is continuing and Modi chose to tweet about the eclipse instead.

He wrote: “When people are dying in UP [Uttar Pradesh] millions are protesting in India, my PM [Prime Minister] like: I couldn’t see eclipse because of clouds…”

However, Modi seemed to enjoy the memes that have emerged as replying to @GappistanRadio’s tweet that reads: “This is becoming a meme,” he wrote: “Most welcome... enjoy.”
