Gujarat BJP opposes staging of Aamir film
Ahmedabad: Aamir Khan may be one of India's best actors. But the BJP in Gujarat thinks he is the biggest villain on Indian soil.
The BJP in Gujarat has threatened that any theatre screening Aamir Khan's latest film Fanaa, slated to be released on May 26 will "have to face the wrath of patriotic Gujaratis and the consequences could be dangerous."
The BJP Yuva (youth) Morcha wants Aamir Khan to apologise if he wants Fanaa to be released in Gujarat. "Aamir Khan has insulted the population of Gujarat. First he supported the Narmada Bachao Andolan and took an anti-Gujarat stand. And then he made nasty comments on Chief Minister Narendra Modi. There is no place for any anti-Gujarati in Gujarat," Yuva Morcha president Amit Thaker has said.
"We have already started convincing theatre and multiplex owners all over Gujarat to stay away from Fanaa. If they don't, they will have to face severe protests," he said.
