5 members of a family commit suicide near Hyderabad
Financial and health problems believed to be the cause
Hyderabad: Five members of a family committed suicide on Saturday in Ranga Reddy district near Hyderabad, police said.
A woman, her two daughters and a son ended their lives by jumping before a train early Saturday, a few hours after her husband committed suicide.
The shocking incident occurred at Ankushapur in Ghatkesar mandal (district subdivision) of Ranga Reddy district, about 80km from here.
According to police, Satyanarayana, 58, who was working in the irrigation department in Adilabad district, committed suicide by consuming poison late Friday night.
Unable to bear his loss, his wife, Meera, 51, their daughters, Swati, 33, Neelima, 28, and son Shivaramakrishna, 22, also took the extreme step.
The cause of the suicides were believed to be due to financial and health problems, police added.
