India's ambitious bullet train project, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad, has achieved a significant construction milestone by completing 300 km of viaducts. The milestone was marked by the successful launch of a 40-meter full-span box girder near Surat, Gujarat, as confirmed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).

The project employs advanced construction methods, including the Full Span Launching Method (FSLM), to accelerate construction—up to ten times faster than traditional techniques. A combination of 6455 full-span and 925 span units has been used to build the viaducts. Additionally, dedicated casting yards and workshops across India contribute to the infrastructure.

Beyond the viaducts, substantial work is underway on foundations, pier construction, and girder casting. The project also showcases India's growing capacity in high-speed rail, supported by indigenously developed equipment and expertise, with substantial backing from the Japanese government. This milestone underlines India's commitment to modernizing transportation and promoting the "Make in India" initiative.
