Canadian actress Jasmine Mooney, known for her role in "American Pie Presents: The Book of Love," was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for 12 days, reports say. The incident occurred when she attempted to renew her US work visa at the US-Mexico border on March 3rd.

According to multiple reports, Mooney faced complications when her previous US work visa was unexpectedly revoked. Upon arrival at the border, she presented an incomplete application for a new work visa.

"I was detained for not having legal documentation to be in the US," she was quoted in the US media. An ICE spokesperson stated that Mooney was "processed in accordance" with relevant executive orders.

During her detention, Mooney reported experiencing harsh conditions in various ICE facilities. She described being forced to sleep on a mat without a blanket, at times resorting to wrapping herself in aluminium foil for warmth. Mooney also alleged she was shackled during transfers and faced poor food quality.

Upon her return to Canada, Mooney spoke publicly about her experience, drawing attention to the conditions of ICE detention facilities. The incident has generated significant media coverage and public discourse.

"This experience has been incredibly difficult," Mooney stated in an interview. "I hope that by sharing my story, I can shed light on the realities of immigration detention," she said.
