Wood is good...Coordination of your interior design in terms of colours, fabrics and settings make for a scheme that works. But, if you want to further enhance the ambience, you need furniture made of fine wood.
There is no instant formula when it comes to doing up your interiors. It takes time and patience. It also helps to know a few design tricks.
For instance, how does one coordinate a bedroom in terms of colours, fabrics and style? Does one make it all sombre and formal or light and airy. How does one create a formal dining setting to knock the socks off anyone who comes for dinner? Apart from buying the right dining set.
The ambience has to be unbeatable, especially for the times when you want Vivaldi playing in the background. Well, once in a while you can have a TV dinner on the couch in the living room. Here, you can go for something modern but not stark or uncomfortable, something with a twist of the unusual and yet chic.
We asked Interiors for three settings that reflected the designer touch. Looks that we could experiment with if we wanted to. Hints that we could follow or incorporate if possible in our own ways. Rose Saad, showroom manager at Interiors explained the nitty-gritties plus a few pointers towards current interior trends.
According to her, the colours in vogue are purples and all its shades, and browns going to bronze tones. What is also in are plain, solid colours, self-patterned fabrics in single colours, the antique look in woods (marquetry work is making a comeback), Mexican furniture (natural looks in wood), parquet flooring. In short - wood, wood and more wood.
