Earlier in the first semifinal, favourites Seven Seas edged out GAC to reach the final.
The tournament is being sponsored by Seven Seas Shipchandlers and organised by Tariq Butt and Parvez R. Masalawala. The tournament is being held at the Seven Seas and Unimix grounds in Al Qouz.
In the first semi final, tournament high scorers G.A.C, who scored 404 in their last match, scored only 79, the lowest score in the tournament. The chief destroyers were Satish (3-19), and Dervaiz (3-17).
Jude was the only batsmen who offered some resistance, scoring 20. Seven Seas, winning the match by nine wickets, reached the target in 11.3 overs. Tuan (34) and Zubair (35) scored the bulk of the runs to take Seven Seas to victory.
In the second semi final, Westar Shipping edged out Kanoo group, who were the favourites of the tournament by 20 runs.
Batting first, Westar scored 176 runs in 25 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Feroz scored 70 and supported well by Alwyn who scored 34. Irfan (2-17) and Sandeep (2-41) bowled well to restrict Westar to a small total.
Chasing the total, Kanoo fell 20 runs short, scoring 156 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 25 overs. Mahesh (44) and Hajreen (28) played well, but could not reach the target, thanks to brilliant bowling by Sukesh (4-28) and Akwal who took (2-15). Westar won the match by 20 runs, and reached the final.
The final will be held at Seven Seas ground at 7:45 tomorrow. Freddy Sidhwa, Chairman and M.D of Seven Seas Shipchandlers will distribute the prizes.
