NCM issues safety alerts for motorists as rain reduces visibility in affected areas

Dubai: UAE expected to witness rain and drop in temperatures tonight and tomorrow. Light rain hit parts of Abu Dhabi on Wednesday evening. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an alert due to convective rainy clouds in some areas of Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain.
The weather bureau reported light rain over North of Razeen and Al Sout in Abu Dhabi around 4pm.
Drivers are advised to drive carefully due to slippery roads because of rainfall. The authorities have advised the public to adhere to the modified speed limits.
According to the NCM, the weather will be partly cloudy with a chance of some convective cloud formation over some Eastern and Western areas with a probability of rainfall. Cumulus clouds and rainfall are anticipated across various regions of the country, coinciding with a dip in temperatures.
The lowest temperature recorded over the country this morning is 6.1°C in Raknah(Al Ain) at 3.15am.
It is going to be humid by night and Thursday morning with a chance of mist formation over some coastal and internal areas.
A decrease in temperature is also expected on Wednesday and Thursday, the forecast added.
Today, the highest temperature recorded over the country today is 27 °C in Ras Al Khaimah International Airport at 3pm.
Considering these weather conditions, Abu Dhabi Police have issued advisories to motorists.
The sea will be slight to moderate, rough by night in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.
Weather forecast for tomorrow
Tomorrow's weather will feature a combination of partly cloudy and cloudy conditions, with periods of rainfall expected in several regions, particularly the Northern, Eastern, and Coastal areas. As the day progresses, there will be a gradual decrease in temperatures, contributing to a cooler feel in the atmosphere.
Humidity levels are predicted to rise significantly by night and into Friday morning, especially in some internal areas, which may lead to the formation of fog or mist in the early hours.
Winds will be predominantly from the northwestern direction, varying from light to moderate speeds. Gusts may occasionally freshen, with average wind speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and potentially reaching up to 40 km/h in more exposed locations.
The sea state in the Arabian Gulf is expected to be moderate to rough, while the Oman Sea will experience slightly calmer to moderate conditions. It is advisable for those planning to venture out onto the waters to exercise caution due to these variable conditions.
