NCM reports the highest temperatures today in Al Ain and Dubai
Dubai: The weather across the UAE this evening is projected to be slightly warm and humid, according to the daily forecast from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). As the day unfolds, temperatures nationwide are expected to rise gradually, creating a warm atmosphere.
In coastal areas, the maximum temperature is set to peak at a sweltering 45°C, creating conditions that may feel stifling, especially with the accompanying humidity levels. Internal regions are not far behind, experiencing similar warmth, with temperature highs ranging between 37°C and 43°C. Today, the highest temperature recorded in the country was a notable 46.7°C, logged in Khatam Al Shaklah (Al Ain) at 12:45 PM, with Sweihan (Al Ain) reporting the same at 2:45 PM, followed closely by Burj Khalifa (Dubai) hitting 46.7°C at 3:00 PM.
The coastal regions may feel particularly muggy due to heightened humidity levels, especially during the warm afternoon hours, leading to a pronounced stickiness in the air. This can make outdoor activities less comfortable and could lead to heat-related health concerns.
For those planning to head to the water, the sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, which could provide a brief respite from the heat for beachgoers.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the forecast indicates generally fair weather, with periods of partial cloud cover especially moving eastward. Light to moderate southeasterly to north-easterly winds are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts possibly reaching up to 30 km/h. The sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, making it suitable for leisure activities.
