UAE weather alert: Temperatures soar to 49.9°C, humidity to increase this weekend

The Met Office reported foggy skies this morning across parts of the UAE

Dubai: Humid weather conditions were reported across the UAE today, June 27, in addition to the increase in temperatures forecast by the Met Office.

According to National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the highest temperature recorded today was 49.9 degree Celsius in Sweihan, Al Ain; and the lowest temperature recorded was 24 degree Celsius over Barakah 2 in Al Dhafra region.

Foggy skies were also reported this morning until 9am. An alert was also issued by NCM advising motorists to stay safe as horizontal visibility was reduced.

Weekend forecast:

Similar weather conditions are forecast for this weekend, with cloudy skies expected eastward of the country. The forecast also states wind speeds will reach up to 35km/hr.
