Motorists urged to drive carefully as visibility dips due to foggy weather
Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning for heavy fog affecting several key roadways across the UAE. Drivers are being urged to exercise extreme caution as horizontal visibility deteriorates, with some areas seeing a significant drop in visibility until 9 am today, March 18.
The fog is especially dense over vital routes, including Al Ain – Abu Dhabi road, Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road, Abu Dhabi – Dubai highway, as well as areas around Al Khatim, Arjan, and Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Sweihan in Al Ain, Jebel Ali, Al Minhad, and Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai are also experiencing reduced visibility.
The NCM advises all motorists to stay alert and adjust driving speeds accordingly, particularly in these fog-prone regions.
Looking ahead, the weather forecast for today indicates fair to partly cloudy skies, with some areas in the east and north seeing cloudy conditions. Temperatures will be moderate, with internal regions reaching highs between 28°C and 33°C, coastal areas and islands seeing temperatures between 26°C and 30°C, and mountain regions ranging from 25°C to 29°C.
Humidity will increase during the night and into Wednesday morning, particularly in northern areas. Winds will remain light to moderate, gusting up to 35 km/h, particularly in the southwest and northwest.
The sea conditions are expected to be mild, with slight waves in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
