UAE weather alert: Rainfall expected in parts of the country

Dubai: Residents in parts of the country may experience rainfall today.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), “a chance of convective cloud formation associated with rainfall and fresh winds causing blowing dust and sand” can be expected today, from 3pm to 8pm, over some Eastern regions of the country.

A yellow alert was released by the NCM which stated blowing dust and sand can also be expected today, as wind speeds will reach up to 40 km/hr.

Temperature highs today will be between 38 and 44 degree Celsius, while the lowest temperature recorded today was 25.3 degree Celsius in Al Wathbah in Abu Dhabi, and in Al Jazeera in Al Dhafra region.

The NCM forecast for tomorrow, June 19, states clouds will appear eastward of the country, and maybe convective by afternoon.

Residents can also expected humid weather conditions during the night and on Friday, June 20, morning, with a chance of fog or mist formation over some Northern areas.
