Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog alert in parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain effective until 9am today. The warning comes as thick fog has descended upon several key areas, significantly reducing visibility and creating hazardous driving conditions. The NCM has advised motorists to proceed with caution, especially on major roads such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards Sharjah, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, Hamim Road toward Madinat Zayed, and areas surrounding Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai South.

In addition to the fog, today’s weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds appearing in the eastern and northern parts of the country. Temperatures are forecast to gradually rise, with highs ranging from 31°C to 36°C in inland areas, while coastal regions and islands will see temperatures between 28°C and 32°C. The mountains will experience slightly cooler conditions, with temperatures between 25°C and 29°C.

The weather will remain humid during the night and into Sunday morning, with a chance of fog or mist forming over some coastal and internal western areas. Light to moderate winds will also create some dust, particularly in exposed areas. The sea is expected to be calm, with slight conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Motorists are strongly urged to remain vigilant, slow down, and ensure adequate distance between vehicles to prevent accidents in areas affected by poor visibility.
