Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported light rainfall cross parts of the country, today. A dust alert was also issued by the Met Office.

Light rainfall was reported earlier today over Shuweihat island, Al Ruwais and several other parts of Al Dhafra region.

According to the NCM, blowing dust was reported over some internal areas of the country. The report states, “fresh north-easterly winds causing blowing dust and sand reducing the horizontal visibility to less than 2000 m, until 6 pm, Sunday, March 9.”

The Met Office also forecasts a probability of light rainfall this coming week, with a gradual decrease in temperatures on Wednesday, March 12.

Light to moderate winds with speeds reaching up to 40 km/hr are also expected this week, which can cause blowing dust over parts of the country.
