Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog alert for several parts of the UAE, warning of significantly reduced visibility over coastal and internal areas, particularly westward, until 9am on Saturday. The advisory follows reports of dense fog formation over Ghiyathi and Bada Dafas in the Al Dhafra region.

Motorists are strongly advised to drive with extreme caution, as horizontal visibility may drop sharply at times due to the foggy conditions.

The fog comes as the country braces for scorching temperatures, with inland areas expected to sizzle between 44°C and 48°C. Coastal regions and islands will see highs of 40°C to 45°C, while mountain areas are forecast to reach between 35°C and 40°C.

Despite the morning fog, today’s weather is expected to be fair overall, with partly cloudy conditions anticipated in eastern parts of the country. Winds will be light to moderate, ranging from southeast to northwest at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, gusting up to 30 km/h. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
