NCM warns of extreme heat and blowing dust; residents urged to stay hydrated
Dubai: The UAE is in the grip of sweltering heat, with the National Center of Meteorology forecasting another day of high temperatures across the country. Today's weather is expected to be fair in general, but residents are advised to brace for extreme heat, especially in inland areas.
Temperatures are predicted to peak between 42°C and 46°C in the internal regions, while coastal areas and islands may see highs ranging from 39°C to 44°C. Over mountainous areas, temperatures will remain slightly lower, hovering between 32°C and 39°C.
The highest temperature recorded yesterday was a scorching 46.2°C in Sweihan, Al Ain, at noon—one of the hottest spots in the nation.
Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening during the daytime and potentially kicking up dust, particularly in areas exposed to southeast to northwest winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 35 km/h.
Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
